Kevin, a close friend of my brother Dave and I ran into a problem with his contractor and asked us to help him to get some projects completed around his home to prepare for putting it on the market. We plan to renovate 4 bedrooms and the kitchen, including new flooring, new windows & doors, and painting, along with a few smaller projects spanning over a few months which started in mid July. Along with some work in both his attached and detached garages as well.
This past week was very productive. I finished up the kitchen cabinet installation, for the most part. I installed the crown riser material, then the crown molding. Then I placed all the doors back on and put the drawers back in. There are still some moldings to apply, and the toe kick skin material, but that will all be complete once the new flooring is down in the kitchen.
Kevin and his family left on a trip for a week, so I took the opportunity to work on their Master Bedroom. I removed their items, and then took up the old carpet and padding. I then primed the lower section of the walls below the chair rail molding, and then painted the entire bedroom, including the chair rail molding and the ceiling. Once the paining was done I moved right on to the new flooring set at a 1/3 offset.
