Kevin, a close friend of my brother Dave and I ran into a problem with his contractor and asked us to help him to get some projects completed around his home to prepare for putting it on the market. We plan to renovate 4 bedrooms and the kitchen, including new flooring, new windows & doors, and painting, along with a few smaller projects spanning over a few months which started in mid July. Along with some work in both his attached and detached garages as well.
This past week started out with the texturing of all the areas where drywall was hung and repaired. Then I used a PVA drywall primer to prime all those same areas. I then proceeded to get all the trim in the kitchen painted. Some trim will need to be cut and re-installed later to butt up to the new cabinetry. I wanted to get most of the painting done before I install the riser material and then the crown molding which will be done this following week after I install the 2nd fridge panel and above fridge cabinet. I installed the final wall cabinet on the left of the window as well.
I also had to install the wall cabinet skin panels before I install the new riser material on the top of the cabinets. I used 23 gauge pin nails to preassemble the corners of the riser material to ensure a tight joint. Once I install the 2nd fridge panel and cabinet I will finish out the rest of the riser material, and proceed with crown molding installation.
